Leadership Services

The office of the chancellor provides a variety of leadership services to parishes and parish organizations.   Assistance and training are available in the following areas.

Organizational Tools:

Personnel from the office of the chancellor can help parishes better understand the structure and function of the parish council.  They can assist parish leadership in developing basic skills that will make meetings more effective, build motivation and commitment, and secure vital input from the total parish.

Facilitation of Meetings:

In addition to skills training, the office of the chancellor can offer outside facilitators to assist the parish in a difficult decision-making process.  These facilitators can help the parish in discernment and consensus, insuring that all possibilities are explored and the pain that often accompanies change is mitigated in a caring and inclusive environment.

Retreats and Workshops:

The people providing leadership services through the office of the chancellor are experienced in leading days of prayer and reflection, community building workshops, and retreats for goal setting, planning, and evaluation.  Whether it is exploring the work of councils or commissions or orienting new members, the office of the chancellor will collaborate with parish leadership to design and implement an event based upon the particular needs and experience of the parish.

If your parish could benefit from some assistance and support in any of these areas, or if you have other concerns regarding organization and leadership in your parish, please contact the office of the chancellor:
