Job Description & Summary
The Director of Catholic Campus Ministry at the University of Missouri – Rolla is a practicing Catholic who provides the spiritual and practical leadership and vision for Catholic Campus Ministry. The director promotes the Campus ministry mission of “engaging life and proclaiming faith” and assures a strong Catholic presence within the university community. The director is responsible for the overall administration, coordination and promotion of all programs, services, internal and external communication, and oversees the finances at the Newman Center.
The Director of Catholic Campus Ministry is under the direct authority of the Bishop of the Jefferson City Diocese and works in close relationship with the Pastor of St. Patrick Parish. The Director participates as a member of the St. Patrick Parish Staff, receives support and advice from the appointed Newman Advisory Board, collaborates with the Campus Ministry Association at the University of Missouri Rolla, is a member of the Missouri Association of Catholic Campus Ministers and the national Catholic Campus Ministers Association.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree
Courses or background at least two of the following: Catholicism, Spirituality, Counseling, Scripture, Moral Theology, Spiritual Direction, Social Justice
Previous experience in Church Ministry
Experience in youth ministry, faith formation, young adult ministry
Administrative, organizational experience
Basic computer skills
Some experience in development and/or communication
Active parishioner in a Catholic Parish
Knowledge of and respect for Catholic Church and her Traditions and Teachings
Self-directed
Is open to the diverse spiritualities and theologies in the Church today
