The Religious Education Office maintains a large resource library of videotapes that can be an excellent resource for catechists throughout the diocese. All of the videos are contained in the Religious Education Office Media catalogue, which is available in a print version or online at http://diojeffcity.kdsi.net. Catechists may rent the videos for a small fee. Videos are normally sent by mail, unless the catechist is able to pick them up from the Office, and returned by the catechist within a scheduled timeframe. In order to make the rental of materials from the Religious Education Office operate smoothly and effectively, we ask your cooperation in following these procedures.

Booking:

1. Materials may be reserved for use by telephone or by sending an email request the Religious Education Office.  The email address is reoadmassist@diojeffcity.org.
   

2. All requests are honored on a "first come, first served" basis.

Parish Use:

A packing slip is included with the video showing a Due Date.  The Due Date is the date on which the material is to be in the Religious Education Office, NOT the mailing date for the borrower.

All material are subject to a maximum three days use unless otherwise indicated.  They must be mailed back promptly so that others may receive the materials on time.

Return:

When returning AV materials by mail, reverse the label on the container.  The Religious Education Office address is already printed on the label.  Please remember to return the teachers' guides with all materials.  Materials may be returned Library Rate: Fourth Class, Special Handling.

Rental Fees:

Parishes may either purchase a subscription for one year, which allows any person, groups or organization affiliated with that parish unlimited use of all materials in the Media Library or parishes may pay a small fee for each video rented.  The costs for each option are:

Itemized Rental Plan:

Videotapes -------------$2.00

Parish Subscription Plan:

Mission parishes would be included with their parent-parish subscription plan.

Billing:

Parishes will be billed at the end of the month for materials rented through the Itemized Rental Plan.  Parish choosing the Subscription Plan will be billed upon receipt of the signed subscription (unless payment has been enclosed).

A-V Catalogs:

A-V catalogs may be purchased from the Religious Education Office for $20.00.  The parish subscription plan does not cover the cost of a new catalog.  Catalogs will be updated as needed.  Special supplements may be sent if the need arises.

Requests:

Plan for use of audio-visual materials well in advance of the showing date.  Book at least ten days to a month ahead of time.  Providing alternate dates for showing will increase the possibilities of obtaining material requested.

Materials can be picked up at the Religious Education Office between the hours of 8 a.m. and  4:30 p.m. or they may be mailed.  If they are to be picked up, please indicate this when the video is reserved, otherwise they will be mailed in time to arrive before the showing date.

Previewing:

Any individuals or faculties desiring to preview materials may make arrangements with the Religious Education Office.
