The Office of Communications is part of the evangelization ministry of the local church and attempts to promote a Gospel presence in the media. The work of the office is primarily in the areas of media liaison, media production, and technical assistance to diocesan and parochial offices and organizations.
The Office of Communication is the official liaison between the diocese and the secular media. All requests for interviews, statements, background, or other media access are to be made through this office.
The office is involved in the production of three weekly radio programs. The Mustard Seed, a joint effort between the Office of Communication and local parishes, is broadcast each Sunday morning on KWIX 1230 in Moberly after the 10:00 am news and at 8:00 am on KREL 1420 in California. The office collaborates with St. Francis Xavier parish and the Missouri Knights of Columbus to produce The Radio Mass from Taos which airs on KWOS 950 in Jefferson City at 10:00 am on Sundays. Table Talk follows the Mass at 10:45 am on KWOS.
The office provides media strategy and audio/visual production services to parish groups and other diocesan agencies.
