The Radio Mass has been broadcast in the central Missouri area for over 30 years. Despite the phenomenal growth of cable television, the Internet, and other communications technology, The Radio Mass continues to reach out to a large and faithful audience of elderly people. When a listener tunes in to The Radio Mass, they feel a part of the worship and prayer of the larger faith community. Maybe just as importantly, the very presence of this radio ministry is an assurance that the larger community has not forgotten them.
It costs $600 to broadcast The Radio Mass from Taos, an expense shared by the Diocese of Jefferson City and by St. Francis Xavier Church in Taos. Over the years, Catholics in the area have honored birthdays and anniversaries or remembered the deaths of loved ones through a partial sponsorship of the The Radio Mass. If you, your family, or your parish organization is interested in sponsoring a Sunday morning broadcast, please contact Pam at the St. Francis Xavier parish office: (573) 395-4401.
