This effort helps Catholics and our allies become involved in public policy advocacy. Catholics and others are supported in lobbying on behalf of people who are poor or lack political power. Issues include poverty and welfare concerns that are rooted in the principles of Catholic social teaching. People receive issue briefings, periodic "action alerts" and assistance in being effective advocates through letter writing and contacts with legislators. Through this work, Catholics and others have the opportunity to help change some of the underlying causes of poverty and injustice.
